Using "beta" as an insult presupposes an incredibly problematic view of masculinity and how society is structured. The original "alpha wolf" study has been discredited, and even if it were how animal pack dynamics worked, applying it to human social relationships is reductive to the point of farce. It holds men to unreasonable behavioral standards, which is just another entry on the long list of ideas that contribute to toxic masculinity, which hurts everyone, regardless of gender.

There are some areas where I think people on the left could benefit from not being so focused on civility and good behavior or whatever, but this is not one of them.
