I say HP Practice, it seems very authoritarian.

I don't remember if the question was asked recently and if it was sorry

it really REALLY needs some rewording.  We shouldn't be pledging anything to a symbol and get God out of it.  Maybe something like:

I pledge allegiance to this great nation, founded on liberty and freedom for all.  Yeah, sometimes we suck, but sometimes we don't.  We should keep trying to get better.  Enjoy your day.

I’d rather not pray to my nation as that won’t make anything better.

Never liked it as it reeks of indoctrination.

I find it sad that simply stating one's allegiance to our country and its values is viewed so negatively here. I'm proud to say the pledge.

Freedom Pledge, and people's inaccurate accusations of its "un-Constitutional" nature have endeared it to me even more.

I don't have an issue with patriotism or if you want to state it, but I have an issue with public schools forcing children to say it, which is directly contrary to the core values of America.

Creepy and cult-like, I never say it.
I refuse to pledge my allegiance to a country that gleefully slaughters hundreds of thousands of innocent children annually.
Pretty big HP.

Many public schools don't force children to say it and instead give them the option. That being said, I have no problem with teachers or staff actively encouraging students to say the pledge, as long as they don't take punitive action against students that don't.

Horrible. Saying a patriotic pledge at the beginning of every class day and the like sounds like something out of North Korea, not the USA. Yes I know it's not mandatory but still.

People who actually said it were weird. In eleventh grade, the day of my APUSH exam, my class met up in our teacher's room instead of going to our first period classes so we did the pledge there and the kid who sat next to me actually said every word out loud and it genuinely caught me off guard. It's honestly difficult for me to wrap my head around the idea of treating it as anything more than a annoying joke I had to pretend meant something every morning for 13 years.

It's once a day, not every class, but agreed.

Very bad; I get sad when I see very young children saying the pledge without having a clue what it means (not that it means anything particularly bad aside from the "under God" part which is just stupid).

Not my place to say as a non-American but, speaking generally, I would point out that the very nature of a pledge or an oath is such that when you make one it will bind you forever unless you explicitly renounce it. For that reason it seems odd to make the same pledge every day. It would be sufficient to make it once.

I mean, I agree in principle that America is a nation of hypocrites, but I still say the pledge because I’m loyal to what America once (and one day, once again) stands for.

It's something a communist or totalitarian country would do, not the United States.  I never liked it, it does not promote patriotism, and it should be removed completely from public schools.
