Pretty self-explanatory thread. I obviously speak English, et aussi, le français presque couramment (almost fluently).

When I was younger, I wanted to learn German, but that never panned out.

English of course. I'm also fluent in Spanish, but other than that none. I want to learn Catalan though.

English, and forgot most all Spanish I knew. I don't get people's obsession with languages and learning them though, no offense, but I think it's stupid. My mom is bilingual, and my dad is trilingual, but I'm a proud monolingual.

I can understand not wanting to speak another language, but it's not as if those that do do so for some irrational reason. Learning a new language improves brain-functioning, increases opportunities for connections abroad, and helps one better use their critical thinking skills. I also, personally, find it quite enjoyable.

I speak English, but not very well.  I know some words in other Indo-European languages and sometimes, if it's written down, can kind of figure out what's going on.  Especially the other Germanic languages and occasionally the Romance ones.

@Bagel: Different languages = different ideas that cannot be conveyed in English properly.

Anyway.

I speak English, obviously.

Ich spreche Deutsch, obwohl nicht so gut.  Zwei jahren bei der Universitaet [ohne Abschluss].*

Tala eg islensku? Nei! Kannski setningu edtha tvo**

* I speak German, though not very well. Two years at Uni [without degree]*

** Do I speak Icelandic? No! Maybe a phrase or two**...it was just too much to do that and learn the languages grade school made me do. Though I freely admit I wish we [English-writers] had "eth" and "thorn" in our alphabet still.

I was forced to learn French and Spanish at different points of grade school, and that all went out the other ear as it went in the first.

Tried Italian for a bit and I've picked up bits and pieces from TV movies here and there, but that also never quite took off, but for the sake of my ancestry I do feel I should get that one down at some point. I've got a few scattered words and that's it.

Picked up lots of scattered words from all over the place, but nothing too coherent. Pretty decent at picking up pronunciations and accents

Was KIND of getting conversationally fluent in Spanish years back, but most of that has faded away.  I can handle talking waiters and other people I interact with for short periods of time in French, but it would be an absolute joke to try to claim to speak French, LOL.  I would probably want to learn French the most, then German.

The best way is to join a french forum if you want to learn French!

I really enjoy being fluent in Spanish so I actually have a list to get around to learning, doubt I'll ever learn it all but I can try. First Catalan, then Portuguese, Thai, Japanese, and French.

I speak very poor Farsi, currently learning Spanish.

I would like to learn Urdu, Swahili, and German.

I dated a Persian girl for a while when I was a teenager, she spoke Farsi great but apparently she hated it because all her relatives spoke it and she just wanted to speak English all the time lmao. Whenever I tried to get her to teach me she got annoyed.

Funnily enough, Swahili was on my list of things to learn in High School, I ranked it third against German and Spanish with scheduling.

In hindsight, I should've switched Swahili and Spanish,...would've had a much better experience in High School if I did that.

I speak English. I speak French but not fluently, although I'm improving. Next up I'd like to learn Hebrew. There's a million languages I'd like to learn, actually, but I know I can't learn them all.

I am monolingual; English is my only language. I took French during the latter three years of high school, but I've forgotten almost all of it by now. And I am not that interested in resuming my studies with it, or learning another language.

English is my only native language, but I take French at school. The next language I'd like to learn is Irish Gaelic, though more out of an interest in it and Irish history/culture than any real practical use. After that I don't really know, maybe German or Italian.

German as native language (Standard German and Swabian dialect) and (American) English as second language. I took some lessons in French back in school, but forgot most. Unlike English, I never liked it that much.

I regret not speaking Greek, because my Dad is a Greek immigrant; today with German citizenship. When I was a kid, he didn't teach me because most of my relatives down there including my grandparents speak German to a certain degree (they lived in Germany for thirty years before going into retirement). Today he regrets it was well. I may still learn, but don't have the time and energy to do so.

Besides Polish (my native language) I speak English (American English to be precise, I hate the accent of British English) to a certain extent, I am not so fluent as I want to be (when I read typical American book I understand about 70% of vocabulary), but I think I speak English better than most of my typical compatriots, I also understand a bit and speak (only in basic, communicative level) Russian. And I know a few words in German, but only few, and I couldn't communicate in German with German-speaking person nearly at all.

I am fluent in English, of course.

Aussi, je parle français: pas beaucoup, mais ce n'est pas seulemment un peu, je peux parler bien avec une personne française.

Hablo español también, fluentemente.

I've always loved to speak and learn different languages, and I'm adept at things like grammar, syntax, phonetics, or morphology.
J'ai eu toujours une habilité pour apprendre et parler des langues differentes, et j'aime les langues.
Tengo habilidad para los idiomas y me encanta aprenderlos
