So Kavanaugh told Orrin Hatch he wasn't at a very specific party in high school even though nobody has stated which party the sexual assault occurred? But Kavanaugh still knows that Ford's claims were all about that one specific party, which he never went to in the first place, of course.

It could be that he never went to any party with Christine Blasey Ford, given that he claims he had no idea who this person was until she came out with the accusation.

The mental gymnastics that some of our Atlas, GOP/trump cultists go through is incredible.
I'm more astonished by your ability to believe anything and everything if it hurts Trump.

70% + chance republicans keep control so risk isn't that great . Plus Dems don't have stones to pull a Merrick Garland for 2 years.

Chuckie and the moderate heroes better learn to grow a spine, then.

I think Chuck as Majority Leader would have no choice other than to prevent any hard right justice to come to the senate floor. If Trump comes forward with a moderate, then yes. But I doubt the God Emperor will make any concession. Democrats should demand the nomination of Merrick Garland.

I remember someone who had a 70% chance of winning a couple years ago...

Oof, this might actually be a thing now. However, considering this hasn't dented Thomas/Bill Clinton/DJT, this won't make much of a difference.

We're gonna need Flake and Murkoswki, because Manchin is running in WV.  On second thought, they might need more than that to block Kavanaugh considering Heitkamp and Donnelly are running scared right now.

What is the matter with investigating this a bit more.

We have had some situations in recent past where there were false accusations of rape.  The statistic suggest that the false reports are 1 in 20 to 2 in 5 (and yes, I was surprised at the last number).

Can't wait to see who the White House trots out to defend him. Maybe we'll get some re-treads from this time last year:

Ask Grassley and McConnell. I think investigating this is what the reasonable people want.

At a party 35 years ago, a very drunken Christine Blasey Ford grabbed my privates and tried to have sex with me. I don’t remember exactly when or where it happened, because I was drinking at the time. I have never told anyone about it before today (except for vague references to a therapist over 30 years after it happened), but it has caused me great mental anguish over the years.

I am entitled to be believed because people do not lie about things like that, even when they are extremist political activists and intend to remain anonymous. #MeToo

I mean he was a minor when this allegedly happened, so it should not even be weighed that heavily even if it is true.

Really? A sexual assault is ok if you're 17? No worries to sit for lifetime on the Supreme Court even if you tried to rape a girl at 17... Wow! I'm truly stunned.

They're going to shrug this off, aren't they? They're going to put a rapist on the Supreme Court and never look back?

"This woman is willing to come forward and tell her story and we should listen to her," said Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) on Milwaukee radio station WTMJ. "I'm not really sure where this goes from here."

Grassley said that although "Dr. Ford’s attorney could have approached my office, while keeping her client confidential and anonymous, so that these allegations could be thoroughly investigated," he and fellow Republicans "are working diligently to get to the bottom of these claims."
