I think we're underestimating just how much Dems have done to to alienate the working class by defending such atrocities such as NAFTA and by fighting against the tariffs intended to alleviate the pain in the Rust Belt.

I was thinking this as well.

I think we're underestimating just how much Dems have done to to alienate the working class by defending such atrocities such as NAFTA and by fighting against the tariffs intended to alleviate the pain in the Rust Belt.

I think protectionists overestimate how much free trade is hurting manufacturing, and underestimate just how much is driven by changes in technology.

Also, if tariffs are giving "new life" to iron and steel workers, they are also leaving the rest of the American manufacturing sector in tatters.

Maybe Ford, GM, and Chrysler will offer to relocate their American workers to Ontario.

I don't know. . . . . . somebody who changed their mind on some issues?  I don't know how you can really quantify these kind of topics.  There's probably thousands of possible characters who could fall into this scenario.
