Actually, "rib" is a metaphor for Adam's non-existent baculum.
That is one interpretation. Or it means "side." In any case the basic idea is the same, expressed in more comic form by Aristophanes in Plato's Symposium.
If an androgynous Adam could have the feminine taken out of himself, then God must be androgynous as the Jews think of Yahweh. It then follows that the second Adam, Jesus, like with all parthenogenic births, had to be biologically female all of his life.
