Can I rejoin this game as George McGovern?

Sadly, it's too late to rejoin the game (as the final primaries are coming up) but if this one is successful, I might do a 1972 Sequel Game. Would you be ok with that?
Sounds great

I may need someone to play as my running mate.

So if LBJ is running after all, than who is playing as LBJ (not that this is a request to play as LBJ in a general election-he'd get massacred, and I'm already preoccupied with several other election games at this time, but it's a good question that needs to be asked).

Just to add to this, would he be subject to sore loser laws at all?

alright. you can announce them if you'd like, GoTfan

I'm at least going to go through the motions of sifting through nominees, even though I already have decided. There needs to be a little theatre about this, hence why I sent you the list of potential nominees to be included in the update.

The next turn has been posted. Once this one is finished, which would you prefer : One Mega turn between June 12th and the RNC or just skip to the Convention?

I think it depends how gets the nomination. If Dillon or Goldwater get it before the Convention, then it makes sense to go straight to the RNC. If no majority is achieved and it looks like it'll be brokered, then we do a mega-turn for both of them to rally supporters for the Convention.

So, it seems that the Republican Convention will be brokered after all.

If I may, there are more than a few similarities to 1960 here.

A northeastern Democratic Senator runs with a southerner from Texas as an olive branch to southern Democrats, while a moderate to conservative Republican runs with a more liberal Republican from the northeast.

Why is it every event seems to disadvantage me in some way?

The Southern Democrats wouldn't support someone like Kennedy, but their not your main core of support. It's expected they would do something about you being Nominated when there are three pro-civil rights tickets on the ballot as an option to the south. However, the Rockefeller thing is only temporary. You can expect a large convention bump from the DNC turn, and then it will get close again, as all Elections do get closer after the Conventions with few exceptions. If you want, I can do a news story that will disadvantage Dillion to even it out.

No that's fine.

Apologies everyone, I've been hyper busy with several things, including the book I'm writing, so updates are slow. The next update is likely to come tomorrow

Not a problem mate. I'd rather you be fully prepared before writing out the turn.
