Literally everything Republicans say about liberals or Democrats.. is projection.  An angry accusation to the "enemy" of a personal characteristic about themselves that they hate.

This sort of thing only serves to rile up the liberals. But it's interesting that they only care about offensive behavior when it offends certain people.

First the College of the Ozarks. Now Kenner, Louisiana. I hope Nike will recover from losing these absolutely crucial customers.

Anybody else seeing the irony that all these whiny conservatives are doing nothing but giving them free publicity, same as they said the Chick-fil-a boycott did?

I just love the honesty of Trump-era Republicans.

While they doubtless thought it, before Trump no elected member of the modern GOP would have come right out and admitted that when Republicans say 'free speech' what they mean is "you must listen to us even in private, and we will use the government to punish those who say things we do not like".

Probably not without some sort of legislative act. Most laws relating to public procurement prohibit localities from arbitrarily excluding firms from offering bids in this manner, and if Nike happens to have the lowest or most economical bid there are usually very limited reasons why a locality could reject that bid.

What an appropriate town name...

Fun fact: this is Jeff Flake’s hometown. And yes, the town is named after his family.

Louisiana is the only state in the continental US to not have counties.

The city mentioned in the article is in Steve Scalise’s district. How fitting.

We demand that municipalities divest themselves from all sorts of investments that support causes we disapprove of.  There were massive boycotts, including municipal boycotts, of North Carolina (over the bathroom bill) and Arizona (over the MLK holiday).  I'm not down with any of these boycotts, but I also don't see how how this Mayor's action is any more or any less ridiculous than the Bathroom Bill Boycott.
