This is like the sixth opinion of me thread within just a little over a year. What is this forum's obsession with me?

Wow, you're right. I thought you were just exaggerating, but there are at least 6 opinion polls for you over the past ~14 months or so. That's pretty unusual.

Anyway, just curious:

1. Isn't a "blue dog" Democrat mostly applicable to a politician? It seems odd to label yourself as a voter/supporter that way. And even then, you're hardly the last. There are probably millions of you, but those votes no longer produce politicians like the old blue dogs.

2. If you value your identity as a so-called "blue dog," what is with some of your endorsements? I feel like it is hard to justify some of those if you are sticking to that label.

Bagel and Cora are the only Atlas Democrats I can recall wishing for Republicans to die. So either you guys have poor memories or have seriously misguided priorities

That's what makes them better than most Atlas Dems.

FF. He has always been polite and civil in his interactions with me, even if some of the views he has expressed on here are ones that I don't agree with. I also like the fact that he is far from an ideological purist, unlike many of the other Democratic posters on here.

Honestly, FF. I haven't agreed with everything the guy has said over the years and he's said some nasty s**t, but he brings a lot to the forum and I respect him for that. Overall, he's flawed, but a decent person.

Don't believe in the HP / FF political dichotomy and Atlas false choices so much these days, although I haven't really ever since I first joined the Forum and got along quite well with Keystone Phil some Ten years back.

I would say this....

Sometimes the posters that post less often, but more substance are just like the people in real life that I tend to listen to the most sometimes....

Bagel, unfortunately tends to frequently post way to often, on way too many threads, and doesn't always appear to be carefully thinking and considering about the content of the posts.

Bagel, since I don't believe in talking about people in the 3rd person, I would humbly suggest that you take occasionally a bit more time, and maybe invest some time a few Atlas research projects, where you can focus some of your energies into fewer posts that add some additional information into the body of Atlas knowledge...

What is Texas Congressional District results that most interest you? If so why Huh What is the composition of the District Huh How has it voted in the past and why Huh

I don't know whether he's putting on the act of a 12-years old discovering the power of google image search, or he really is 12-years old doing just that.

Yes, but I find it cooler to say than just oh I'm a conservative democrat, or I'm towards the right of the party, etc, blue dog is short and great and gets the job done. I guess there are a lot still left, but comparatively few left to the glorious blue dog empire there used to be. I mean nothing is black and white. I don't agree with blue dogs on everything (ie. gun policy) but I just feel like they are the closest match to me, so I guess I'm not politically "pure" in that sense. I call myself and identify as a blue dog, it's just how I roll, if you want to call me something different, that's fine too, just don't let it be blatantly false.
