Basically, the title: what if North Carolina had a class 1 senate seat that would be up re re-election in 2018, as well as being previously up in 2012, 2006, etc. Which party would currently hold the seat? Who would be favored right now?

If it was created in 2006: Dems pick it up and hold it in 2012. They are favored to hold it in 2018.
If it was created in 2012: Reps narrowly win the seat and the incumbent Senator is in big trouble in 2018.
