Who ran a better campaign? McCain 2008 or Clinton 2016?

Hillary ran the better primary, McCain ran the better general.

I mean sure Bernie forced a few things here and there, but Hillary answered them all at beck and call. And she was doing a pretty decent job, actually had me fooled for a while that she'd take it in a walk...then she took that break in August and pretty much tried to let the news cycle do Trump in like a dice roll.

McCain doddered around the whole time, letting Romney and Huck take each other out in the primaries. But in the general, Palin was a decent on paper move that stopped a lot of bleeding, and Joe the Plumber was a reasonable method of attack too.
