NoCal, easy

Living under the sequoia or where Steinbeck hung out would be cool.

Northern California. I like the Sierra Nevada (though not its politics) and the North Coast.

California is probably overrated at this point, but NorCal is definitely better than SoCal.

Southern California is perhaps the greatest place on earth. Obviously.

NoCal has beautiful landscape and has a more mild climate. SoCal is a desert with extreme heat and lingering smog issues.

SoCal, though I really wouldn't want to be in LA.  Zero appeal to me.  However, San Diego would be awesome.

I've never been to California but RINO Tom's answer is pretty close to what I'd imagine my opinion on the subject would be.

Northern California, especially once you get away from the urban centers. The beauty of the NorCal coast and the Sierra Nevadas have always deeply fascinated me and I want to see them some day.

I’d love to visit the Bay Area; it even seems like one of the few places that stand out to me as a wonderful place to live. Too bad I could never afford it, barring winning the lottery.
