As of right now, 40% of me i supporting Kerry, 60% of me wants to get rid of Bush.  If Kerry picks Edwards as his VP, it would be voting 100% to get Edwards into the VP office.

I'm mostly still an ABBer versus a Kerry supporter. I wish I could feel somewhat enaged by being a Kerry supporter.

Against Bush.  I don't trust Kerry to run the country, just more comparatively.

Definitely not voting FOR Kerry,  unless he actually gets some sort of image down -- right now, even I'm not sure who the heck he is.

He has to stop coming off as Bush-lite.  There are many people I'd like to see over Kerry.  Edwards, Clark, Hillary Clinton, and bringing about my Philly biases yet again Ed Rendell!!!  If his personality were a smidge better a dark horse would be Joe Hoeffel.  Let's just hope he gets Senate first.  I like moderate Dems that don't filp flop.

Uninspired by Kerry… but I trust him…voting most of all out of loyalty and the fact that I disagree fundamentally on many of the central tenets of the GOP… that said if Edwards gets the nod to be VP…I’ll be voting nearly 100% to get Edwards into office as VP…

If I could vote in the US, I would 100% be voting against Bush. Even Lieberman would be preferable to Bush.

Right now, It is 50/50 - I am voting for Kerry and against Bush.

Your thread is very good in that it illustrates that most would be Kerry voters are not actually FOR Kerry per se, but rather against Bush.

What is interesting is that the anti-Bush types have great difficulty in articulating their opposition without resort to ad hominem attacks.

I suspect that a large part of the opposition stems from Bush's Texas accent.

If I could vote: for Kerry AND against Bush. I like Kerry. He has the potential to be the best president in recent years - he's more gifted than were Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton and Bush.

Ok, then give a reason without ad hominem attacks.

I'm voting both for Kerry and against Bush. I like Kerry a lot, and dislike Bush even more. But I do genuinely like Kerry, unlike (it seems) a lot of Kerry voters on this board. I genuinely think he'd make a great President.

Again NO reason was given other than a vague "like" or "dislike."

Is it his cursing out a Secret Service agent that makes you "like" Kerry?

I have yet to see any other than visceral 'feelings' to explain any preference for Kerry over Bush, or any evidence that you 'think.'

I was hoping that Edwards would win the primary, but the best the Dems could come up with is Kerry, who I do not care for.  It will come down to Kerry's running mate.  My vote will not be against Bush.  Being undecided, I might vote for Bush.  Decisions, decisions, decisions

Some people feel that the world is flat.  That doen't make it so.

Please notice that there is a general tendency for liberals to "feel" and for conservatives to "think."  Liberals tend to use ad hominem attacks where conservatives tend to use logical arguments (citing facts).

that has been apparent on this board.  For example I'm a "left-wing NeoLiberal" and I often find myself using Pathos to debate.  It's effective for me but I wouldn't recommend the technique to all.  Brambila, on the other hand, often cites facts and figures.

Note that this crosses party lines as well.  If you look over the poster's past posts, you'll find that some Blues are pathetic, some logical.  Same with Greens and same with Reds.  Not sure what to make of it all, either.  Just a personal stylistic difference, I think.

By the way Gustaf, if cursing SS agents turns you on, you should really be a big fan of Bush's daughters!
