Why is it that every time America is actually respected around the world a Republican comes (well, at least it applies to the last two Republicans) and destroys that respect under the guise of restoring respect?? Comes across as a bit conflicted and schizophrenic.
Many (but not all) Republican voters do not undersrand "quiet strength". If we aren't shootong bombs off or threatening somebody, they assume we arw being percieved as weak and unrespected. They need to learn from the Geto Boys:

Wow. The Secretary of State sent emails to the President, and they were archived. So people looking for records of the SoS's email could find them. Shocking.

This is the equivalent of saying, "The headquarters of America's national command authority has positively confirmed ongoing investigative media reports that Donald Trump has been having long private conversations, the exact contents of which are being concealed from the public, with a former Russian intelligence officer who is now a high-ranking member of the Russian government about interfering in the 2016 election to get Trump elected?!"

Since the President of the United States seems to think this sort of evidence is important and definitive, I guess we should just break out the guillotine and stick old Don the Crook in a tumbrel cart ASAP!

Apparently the Don wants to start a recession now so that it isn't happening in late 2020. At least that's what I'd think if I thought the Don understood how trade works.

Well, if those numbers are true, let's do a little back-of-the-envelope scribbling.  25% of 50 billion is 12.5 billion.  10% of 200 billion is 20 billion.  The total is 32.5 billion. 

The U.S. GDP in 2018 was about 20.5 trillion.  Pro-rated for 10 months, it's about 17 trillion. 

So if we completely ignore any of the well-documented negative effects on the U.S. economy such as lost business and jobs, the tariffs would have boosted GDP by a maximum of (32B/17T) or about 0.2%.
