Similar to the other thread I made but this time where you would have actually voted for the other party or at least seriously considered it, and no specific time frame for this one.

US: 1996 (Bill Clinton, Democratic; this is the last time I can confidently say I would have voted for the Democrat; I would have since considered voting Democratic in 2000, 2004 and 2008 but ultimately I would have probably gone with the GOP nominee without hindsight)

Canada: 1993 (Liberal or Reform, not sure but I would not have voted for the PCs and this is the last time I would have considered voting for a non-right-wing party in Canada; I could have also seen myself voting Liberal in 1988 (actually with a much higher probability than in 1993, the Mulroney PCs were awful and the Liberals were the only alternative in 1988) but those are the only times I could have seen myself voting for a non-right-wing party)

Australia: 1990 (Labor; the Liberal Party was pretty bad in the period starting from the late 1960s until John Howard became party leader in 1995, so I could have seen myself being a Labor voter in the 1980s, especially the 1983 and 1984 elections where I'm fairly confident I would have supported Labor; I would have become a solid Liberal Party supporter in 1991 due to the Labor Party becoming a republican party)

UK: 1832 (Whigs; the Tories at that point were too reactionary)

Romania: 2000 (Ion Iliescu, PDSR; would have voted for him in the second round of the Presidential Election in order to keep his opponent out of office)

Israel: 1999 (Ehud Barak, Labour; here it's a bit different though, before 2001 I would have mostly been a Labour/Alignment voter in Israel, only voting Likud in in the Begin era (1977-1984 I guess) and for Netanyahu in 1996; I would have switched to Likud in 2001 after it Barak's negociations on a two state solution failed and Likud became more reasonable)

1956

Would have considered doing such in 1960, 1968, and 1980, but eventually decide against it.

1996 was my very 1st time voting
2000 were I voted for Gore, but I thought the recount was too long, and Dubya should be elected to get it over with

Since then, I have been voting solid Democratic since the "Occupy Wallstreet movement since 2004-2010" During the height of Dubya's presidency

Last presidential Democratic vote would've been a useless protest in 1972.

I did cast a non-Republican (Libertarian) vote in 2016, and would've probably done the same in 1976.

As first preference? For the US, 1904 definitively, 1952/56 maybe.

If I had the politics I did today (back then I was a standard progressive maybe even a bit of a SJW), I would have maybe entertained the idea of voting for Trump in 2016 for a little while but in the end I would not vote for a party even more funded by big money interests than the one I'm registered and one that favored tax cuts for the rich or throw 30 million people off of health insurance or calling climate change a hoax for the Chinese government.

It is worth noting that back in 2016 after the primaries were over, I knew I needed to vote for Clinton in the GE (who I was planning to vote for until around July 2015 when I became convinced it wouldn't be 1972 2.0 had Bernie won the primary) as I was in a swing state, so I basically pretend her flaws didn't exist the entire GE campaign. It's possible I would have floated with voting for Jill Stein if I wasn't in a swing state but I doubt I would have voted for Stein in the end. I would have wrote in Bernie or voted for Clinton, probably the latter.

As for the question, either 1904 or 1928. In the past I would have said 1960 and 1956 but after thinking it over, I don't think I'd vote for a pro-RTW GOP presidential nominee given the fact the only time they had real power in DC, they passed RTW.

With certainty, 1972. Likely 1976 and 1988. I would've flirted with it in 1992.

For the US, either 1992 (if I felt Clinton wasn't good enough, I'd vote for Perot), 1972 (if I felt McGovern was too radical), 1956/1952 (Eisenhower was pretty good) or at the latest 1924 (Progressive).

For Spain probably 2011 (very disappointed with Zapatero's 2nd term and PSOE I probably would vote either IU or nationalist)

Did it last election.  However, before that we are looking at 1964.

I would've voted for Clinton for sure 1996 (possibly would have voted Democrat in 2000 and 2008 as well)

The last time I would have voted for a Republican would have been 1984. I actually did vote third party in 2016, and before that, I would have gone for Ross Perot in 1992 and 1996.

1956 for presidential elections but could easily be more recent for other elections.

Wasn't old enough to actually vote in 1980, but did vote for John Andersen in the school kid vote.

I probably would've voted for Obama in 2008, would've been split between all three candidates in '92, and probably would've voted for JFK. This is all in the context of knowing what I would've known then though.
