Japanese Medical School Alters Applicants' Scores to Reduce Female Admission

I'm not sure if this is in the right section, but this is absolutely disheartening.

For at least over a decade, Tokyo Medical University deliberately altered applicants' scores to reduce the admission of female students. It lowered female applicants' scores and raised male applicants' scores in order to ensure that the female student ratio did not exceed 30%. The rationale behind this move was supposedly that most females would stop working upon starting a family, thus reducing their potential of having long, successful careers in the medical field.

I heard that the university would try to retroactively admit as many affected applicants as possible, but the percentage of applicants who would have been eligible who would be willing to attend now is almost certainly less than 100%.

Imagine if something like this were discovered in the United States - what would the fallout have been?

This is absolutely unacceptable. Japan is notoriously conservative when it comes to gender roles as far as I know, so maybe that plays a role. Also, why did they go for a 30% female percentage? At least here medical school is overwhelmingly female (not as much as nursing but still something like 33M-66F)0

It's just so f**ing hypocritical. Their gender ideology is dangerous, I'm starting to agree with the alt-right on some things. In Sweden they're even thinking about forced paternal leave. The only remotely acceptable outcomes to feminists are households where everything is done equally or (preferably in their eyes) households with female breadwinners and #woke male homemakers. And since schools are setting up young boys for failure they might even succeed too.

Hypocritical to attack the school for this when it already happens in every U.S. university. Only here it's called affirmative action and is just the same thing in reverse. Stop pretending this is some sort of scandal.
