This has always confused me a bit, but how are colors decided for swing and trend maps? I'm working on a swing and trend map and I noticed that it's not necessarily one point = lightest shade, five points = middle shade, nine or more points darkest shade.

Any help is appreciated.

(Also not sure if this is the right place, so mods feel free to move this)
