This ticket is just too dangerous for me. Kasich in states where he can win, Trump in Trump vs Sanders states.

You dislike Gabbard more than Trump

Not really, it's more a matter of survival. By choosing Gabbard, Sanders shows that he'll go with the far left foreign policy angle, which means he could potentially put Israeli lives at risk (he already showed complete ignorance on the issue in the past). Under Trump, the middle eastern situation has been stable. So I'd rather have a 2nd term for him, as disgusting as he is as a person, than risk my country.

It's pretty fun to see the Atlas globalists so #triggered. Anyway, no Gabbard fan but will easily vote Sanders.

So earlier today, a thought popped in my head.

Does the title have anything to do with the Doomsday Clock?

I'd vote for Kasich. I dislike Sanders, but Gabbard is horrendous.

I very much dislike Gabbard, but I think I could stomach her at the bottom of a ticket.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg, born Joan Ruth Bader, was an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. Ginsburg was appointed by President Bill Clinton and took the oath of office on August 10, 1993. She was the second female justice (after Sandra Day O'Connor) of four to be confirmed to the court (along with Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan, who are still serving). Following O'Connor's retirement, and until Sotomayor joined the court, Ginsburg was the only female justice on the Supreme Court. During that time, Ginsburg became more forceful with her dissents, which were noted by legal observers and in popular culture. She was generally viewed as belonging to the liberal wing of the court. Ginsburg has authored notable majority opinions, including United States v. Virginia, Olmstead v. L.C., and Friends of the Earth, Inc. v. Laidlaw Environmental Services, Inc.

She passed away on July 12th, 2020, after a major stroke. She is survived by two children and two grandchildren. She is buried with her Husband, who passed away in 2010.

Worst case scenario under Kasich ends with Kasich nominating someone between Roberts and Kennedy. Sanders, meanwhile, wants to drive tuition up and businesses out.

I hope centrist Dems don't screw up the entire country by giving Trump another Supreme Court seat just because Tulsi Gabbard is too spicy for their delicate sensitivities

But Kasich won't win. It's about splitting the vote.

DNC 2020

The Democratic National Convention opened in Houston on a somber note. The night before, the country had lost a Liberal Icon. Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg lost her life on the eve of the DNC. This fundamentally dominated the DNC. Suddenly, yet another election was about the Supreme Court. “If Democrats lost this, then the Judiciary would be lost for generations,” was the argument of many democrats at the convention.

The Fourth day featured a variety of rising stars. Beto O’Rourke, a twice candidate for Senate, Gretchen Whitmer, the Governor of Michigan, Andrew Gillum, Governor of Florida, Stacey Abrams, Governor of Georgia, and many many more all delivered speeches to close out the DNC.  O'Rourke's speech made national headlines, but the remainder where mostly overlooked.

The Democrats received a good bump from the DNC, but having already been leading in the polls, the effect wasn’t really noticeable

Kasich and Friends throw a Party: The "Serve America Movement" Convention.

Held in a Hotel in Cleveland, the "Serve America Movement" held a Convention of their own. The two day event featured numerous "Never Trump" individuals, and a variety of candidates. The Kasich Campaign had announced that they had achieved Ballot Access in all 50 states, something Evan McMullin failed at. The Convention also featured a host of candidates running with the Movement's nomination. In all, the Party had 57 House candidates and four Senate candidates.  Republicans supporting Kasich also showed up to speak at the event, including Jeff Flake and Bob Corker.

In all, the event got far less media coverage than the DNC, but still made national news. Kasich's speech in particular made headlines, and the party saw a small bump in the polls as a result of the positive media coverage.

2020 Presidential Polling: Nationwide
MOE -- 4%
Bernie Sanders/Tulsi Gabbard -- 48% (-5%)
Donald Trump/Mike Pence* -- 31% (+1%)
John Kasich/Richard Hanna --11% (+3%)
Undecided/Others -- 10% (+2%)

2020 Presidential Polling: Ohio
MOE -- 3%
John Kasich/Richard Hanna --35%
Bernie Sanders/Tulsi Gabbard -- 31%
Donald Trump/Mike Pence* -- 26%
Undecided/Others -- 8%

2020 Presidential Polling: Utah
MOE -- 3%
John Kasich/Richard Hanna --34%
Bernie Sanders/Tulsi Gabbard -- 29%
Donald Trump/Mike Pence* -- 29%
Undecided/Others -- 8%

Next Part will be the RNC. I'll do a part covering the Senate Races, the Gubernatorial Races, the House Forecast, and then a campaign piece or two before the election results.

Amash would NOT be endorsing Kasich, unless Kasich has scaled back his hawkish foreign policy and promised to protect civil liberties as President.

Regardless of what has happened and will happen, I will not retcon the 2018 Results. Too much is based on these things happening that I will not change the plan of the timeline.

Same for my TLs... that is, if I continue them. My enthusiasm for American politics is down quite a lot.
