The CIA won't do it under Haspell obviously but I bet Mossad or MI6 will. Hopefully they still have the balls to do it If Trump grants him asylum in the US once Ecuador kicks him out.

If anyone kills him, it will be either the FSB or GRU to keep him from blabbing.

If the Death Penalty counts as killing someone, then yes.

The idea of Trump giving Assange asylum is laughable. Even if you consider Trump a Russian asset, Assange is not. He's a freelance infoterrorist who helps Russia because of his hatred for the US. He's a wild card who no one wants around long term.

It's gross when anti-death penalty people want intelligence agencies to murder people.

If Mossad wanted him, they would have taken him out already, and the MI6 is not nearly the force it once was -- that makes even less sense, since its the Brits who are trying to force Ecuador to hand him over.

I oppose executions of prisoners. I did not object to to the operations that eliminated Osama bin Laden and Anwar al-Awlaki though.

As much as BRTD is weird, I can see his point here.

The intelligence world is a murky and opaque universe probably not even fully understood by the people inside it. It's hopeless to try and figure out what the motivations could be. All we know is a part of the end result.

And the end result of the past several years has been brutal for the U.S. intelligence community. They have endured one leak after another... I count 4 major breaches (Manning, Snowden, Vault7, ShadowBrokers), the last two of which have not been definitively solved. One of the leakers is free in Russia, Assange is going free, and a third one until recently was running for U.S. Senate. Humiliating articles in the NY Times about collapsing morale and trying to rebuild themselves from scratch. Tweets taunting them. A CiC who is skeptical of them. A former CIA chief who is running around calling the POTUS a traitor. A former FBI chief who obviously has a case of regret and sees his top lieutenants' lives destroyed. I daresay a fiction novelist circa the year 2011 would not have dared to write just a scenario for fear of being labelled unpatriotic. But they will probably recover, to an extent.
