Welcome to the Liberal Party, Lincoln's new platform for pragmatism and protecting the rights of us all. Our goals are to defend and expand the rights of Lincolnites, to support a healthy regional economy with a balance between the free market and government intervention, and to help bring citizens of Lincoln together to achieve common goals and pool our ideas. We welcome those of all party affiliations to join and support us and thus will remain unaffiliated on a federal level.

Our Platforms:
Equal Rights and Opportunity Under Law: All Atlasians, regardless of race, religion, LGBT status, or whatever else, deserve to live a good life and enjoy the same rights of citizenship. We will not support legislation to undermine the rights of any particular group. All Atlasians also deserve to be on an equal footing when it comes to education and job opportunities, and the Liberal party will work to make this certain.
Fair Markets: The failures of extreme economic policy have been shown time and again both when the state exercises total control and when the state has no control. We will support the market economy and ensure that it works best for everyone. We will make life easier for the small business owner and make sure that they don't struggle against the large business. We will make sure that the worker receives the right protection. We will regulate what is necessary for the safety of the people, environment, and markets, while lifting barriers that don't serve a purpose.
A Clean Environment for Our Future: Ensuring that our environment remains clean and the Earth stays healthy for years to come is of upmost importance today. We will support the phasing out of fossil fuels in favor of a variety of more sustainable sources, and use whatever is most practical. We will also implement training programs to ensure that this transition doesn't leave workers behind. We will make sure that our environmental code is up to date and includes the most effective policies available.
Activity and Community Engagement: A government can only be as effective as it is active, and elected officials of the Liberal party will be expected to maintain activity and contribute to our government. We also recognize that many Lincolnites have ideas worth sharing, and we want to encourage people to share their ideas and give their input. Our goal is for the Liberal party to be a platform of engagement and policy discussion so that we can implement more effective policy and best serve Lincoln.

Welp, it's time.

Given the recent revitalization of regional parties in Lincoln, I'm bringing this back from the dead. We will remain under our four pillars for this renewal and we will continue to accept any and all across party lines. The moderates of Lincoln ought to have a home where we can be united and productive, and this is where we can be. I encourage everyone looking for a moderate party to join today!

So, the Party Organization Act passed by congress fails to make any clarifications when it comes to the difference between Federal and Regional political parties. However, from what I understand the federal government only has the authority to regulate federal voter registration, with the regions each legislating regional party registration on their own. Lincoln does not legislate requirements for renaming, so as chair I am officially renaming this party the Citizens' Party of Lincoln. I will be releasing more stuff soon.

Welcome to the Citizens' Party of Lincoln

Synopsis:
The Citizens' Party aims to be a wide coalition of Lincoln voters seeking to address issues facing the Lincoln region and lower bodies of government. Citizens' believes that the old party system has left Lincoln's communities behind and that a new voice is needed which is willing to act for the people of Lincoln. We believe in cooperative problem solving and doing what is needed for the people of Lincoln rather than playing politics.
Economic Opportunity:
All people deserve the opportunity to succeed in a fair market economy. This means not only giving Lincolnites the right to participate in the economy, but also the foundation needed to succeed. This should start from childhood with a solid, modern educational basis in earlier years of education, and the ability to explore specific interests and determine what one wishes to focus on in later years. Higher education should include more trade schooling, and we must end the rhetoric fed to our youth that these occupations are "lesser" than academic fields. Over-saturation of universities has lead to increased debt and stress for those who truly wish to enter academic fields.

Economic hardship can easily spiral out of control. One loses their job, which causes them to lose their house. Being homeless makes it more difficult to maintain one's hygiene, which makes it harder to get a job. After some time it becomes difficult to obtain food. It becomes difficult to travel to potential workplaces and government services. This is why there must be something for everyone to fall back on. We will fight against attempts to defund welfare and support initiatives such as public housing and job finding services to help those in need. If we are to expect people to pull themselves up, they must be given a ladder.

Part of economic opportunity is the ability to enter the economy. People should be able to start a new business if they are willing to provide a useful, quality service or have an innovative idea. This has become increasingly difficult over time. Citizens' supports simplifying the process of starting a new business and implementing policies which favor smaller businesses.
Community-Oriented Development:
The past several decades have seen the idea of building communities go by the wayside in favor of sprawling growth, swaths of single use land, and careless planning. This has made communities disjointed and commutes longer. Citizens' intends to change this. It is time to focus on livability, not just supply and demand. Under CPL leadership, future communities will be walkable and easily navigable, with green spaces and local businesses always being in easy reach of residences.

Public Transportation is a vital component to making communities work. Easy to access public transportation not only reduces commute times, traffic, pollution, and transportation costs but it also brings life to communities. Placing public transport stops in a central location to each community encourages people to walk through their community, making the streets lively and attracting more customers to local businesses. Everyone benefits from public transportation.
Civil Liberty:
Citizens' is a firm believer that all people are born equal. Race, gender, sexuality, or class do not determine the contents of one's character. Citizens' will always stand against discrimination based on one's identity, and ensure that opportunity is accessible to all. Citizens' will also stand firmly for the rights of speech, press, and assembly which our democracy is founded upon. To lose these rights would mean the end of democracy. The common citizen must be able to voice themselves and stand up for themselves, otherwise oppression is inevitable.
Standing up for Citizens
As our name would suggest, we are a party of, for, and by the common citizen of Lincoln. We will always make Lincolnites our highest priority, not special interests, not partisan benefits, or anything else. As we said before, all people must be able to voice themselves. We will give you a voice, and all of our voices together must be heard. We will do what the other parties have been unable to do: We will build a better future in Lincoln, and nothing will stand in the way of that.
