I want an actually serious discussion of this interesting topic here. No Russia quips, okay? We all know it won't be there and that a library will be built (even Nixon has one ffs).

Even if Trump weren't such a unserious president, it's way too early to be discussing this. That said, given the trend of burying ex-presidents at their libraries, it probably won't be NYC.

There is a historical center memorializing Warren G. Harding in his old home town of Marion, Ohio...

Honestly, a Trump org building seems like something he would want.

There is no way we're going to allow Trump to build a presidential library "commemorating" his horrible presidency elsewhere in NYC.

He's going to have to build it in his gaudy golden tower (if he's not in prison by then).

I think it'll be in Florida near Mar-a-Lago. I don't think he'd pick NYC (don't know why but I just don't for some reason.)

Are you crazy? There's no way, Queens would allow that.

It's going to be in Trump Tower OR Mar-A-Lago. Those are the only valid options.

The Trump Organization already owns Trump Tower, so it could convert some of the floor space there into the Trump Presidential Library with minimal effort.  I don't really see what the City of New York could do to stop this.

Seeing that New York is the U.S.' largest domestic tourist destination and Trump Tower is already a somewhat of major attraction in the city, I'll expect that Trump's library will be the most visited Presidential Library in the country when completed Sad

At first, it will be in Trump Tower in NYC.

But then the city of NYC government (or maybe the state of NY government, who knows) will seize Trump Tower under the power of eminent domain in order to construct something of vital public purpose, perhaps an immigration museum, or maybe just in order to extend Central Park.

Accordingly, Trump Tower, with the Library along with it, will be demolished amidst great fanfare.

Then there will be no library any more.

Either a renovated section of Trump Tower or a freestanding construction near Mar-a-Lago. My money's on the latter.

Mar-a-Lago is the most likely I think.

Deny them the zoning for an on-site mausoleum. These days they don't build presidential libraries just for the records.

Mar-a-Lago is the most likely I think.

At this point, that seems most likely, simply because it will allow him to continue his grift even in death mostly because it gives him space to build a massive, hideous mausoleum where he can be mummified and displayed forever Lenin-style, while his sycophants pay $$$ to visit him and mourn, not to mention the Trumpland theme park and even more massive new hotels there.

In the end, I would guess someplace like Hillsdale College in MI or Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA.

The contingencies here would involve Trump not being dishonorably removed from office.  If Trump is merely defeated for re-election, I believe it would be at one of these sites.

If it were not set up at a location affiliated with a college/university, I think Trump would have his library somewhere in WV.  Or at The Villages in FL.  These are two of the most right-wing areas that such a move would not result in a bevy of protest.
