It is hard to choose. There is much more HP than FF. But I think Evo Morales is the best one.

Hmm
Morales: pros- against Catholic Church, pro gay, for the native people, keep winning landslides(till now),  fought country into 21st century
Meh-spotty environmental and humans rights issues
Cons- not abiding by the recent referendum, economies service sector didn’t develop
Pinera-cons- conspired to weaken Chile with his friends in the world bank
Macri: pro-not a Kirchner nor Peronist
Cons-corrupt by keeping an offshore account, pretty evident though he cheats on his taxes
All else are corrupt, do nothing, or I have no idea

Macri is great, followed by Duque, Pinera and Temer, who are also good. Morales, Moreno and Maduro are evil. Don't know about the others.

Macri is great, followed by Duque, Pinera and Temer, who are also good. Morales, Moreno and Maduro are evil. Don't know about the others.

Why is Lenín Moreno evil? From a right-wing perspective, he doesn't belong in the same category as Maduro or Morales.

My answer is, out of a mediocre to nasty bunch, probably Tabaré Vázquez, although I know rather little about Uruguayan politics. My opinion of Evo Morales has significantly worsened since he decided to disrespect a referendum's result to ensconce himself in power forever (in a fashion very reminiscent of Honduras' corrupt criminal president JOH), like so many other caudillos in the past. Moreover, as I've learned through my research supervisor (who works on indigenous culture issues in Bolivia), his record on the environment, indigenous rights and economic development leaves a lot to be desired and is nothing to be particularly giddy about, especially from a progressive perspective.

Maduro (dumb stooge of a narco-state), Temer (arch-corrupt) and Marito Benítez (son of paedo Stroessner's private secretary) are obviously the terrible trio. From the very early looks of it, Porky Duque won't be far from the terrible trio -- at any rate, he's not providing lots of reasons to even be cautiously optimistic (although I'll give him minor credit if he sends vile homophobes Viviane and Ordóñez off to some useless ambassadorship).

And how on earth Temer is anywhere near "good"? Or David is simply being a total hack.

Idk. The leftists are bad for obvious reasons. Most of the right-wingers seem to be creepily sexist, and in addition to that Temer is hilariously corrupt. I guess Vizcarra is the best, while Marquez, Pinera and Macri are acceptable too (even if they're a bit too traditionalist, idk much about that though). But I guess I'm a centre-right hack so I'd probably easily vote for the centre-right politicians on this list over their hypothetical left-wing opponents.

Macri:

I (and 99% of Argentinians) would say that not having a clue on how to manage the economy (inflation is still over 25% every year and no signs whatsoever of going down, the peso losing 50% of its value in less than one month, stagnantly low economic growth, huge fights between Macri and his most important allies from his own party on how to approach the crisis, the government's absolutely awful predictions about anything concerning the economy) is worse that cheating on taxes

I can't understand why people in this forum loves Macri so much, when the man has shown no remarkable ability to govern and his administration is mostly incompetent. His presidency will be remembered by an utter failure in dealing with economic turbulence. Admittedly, the context is bad. However, I'm afraid that Macri is making some Argentinians to miss Cristina Fernández de Kirchner. This is terrible by itself.

I voted Tabaré Vázquez, even though he doesn't raise my enthusiasm. I'm not following Uruguay's affairs very much, but I think a casual observer could see that this country is one of the most stable and possibly the best managed of the continent. Lenin Moreno would come second.

Evo Morales leans HP for me because he's hanging on to power and other issues. As for iván Duque, his first steps are unpromising. He was recently in Spain and Colombian media bashed him for sending King Felipe greetings from Uribe. Nobody cared in Spain, but I read for many people in Colombia the behaviour of Duque in the official reception with the Spanish king was unappropiate and servile.

The rest is between awfulness (Maduro, Temer, Benítez) and mediocrity (Piñera)

The fact he's not a Peronist might have something to do with it.

Even though Cristina Fernández was terrible, I don't understand this hatred towards Peronism. I'm not saying that Peronism is something that I would defend, but there are more terrible ideologies around the world. Examples: the xenophobic far-right populism in Europe, Serbian Irredentism, Muslim Fundamentalism, the Israeli ultranationalist and ultra-orthodox folks, etcetera.

I'll always prefer a competent Peronist like former economy minister Roberto Lavagna over an incompetent non-Peronist like former president Fernando De la Rúa.
