Bernie Sanders had lost, after a scandal of him in the 1970s saying that Vermont's nuclear waste should be disposed in a poor Hispanic community in Texas, People were outraged and most voted for Gary Johnson or for Trump. Many People were angry at Bernie so he resigned at his senate seat when he lost. Many people who voted Johnson oddly voted Democrats in the Senate as well. The Republican stratagy had backfired in Indiana and Wisconsin because Todd Young sighed at a debate and Ron Johnson called Russ Feingold a socialist. Rob Portman lost because he’s been facing blistering criticism from protesters and editorial boards for refusing to consider the Supreme Court nominee and damaging revelations of hypocrisy about his past statement that it is a “solemn responsibility” for the Senate to consider judicial nominees. And now Portman’s facing a developing scandal about his advocacy for a company that sold dangerously defective helmets to the U.S. military.
