For some reason the raid never happens, neither does a drone strike or anything.

Does this POD in mid-2011 affect anything? I know it improved his numbers in the polls for like a month, but then things got worse again over the debt ceiling, credit downgrade, etc.

I just wonder if the death of Bin Laden not occurring has any long-term impacts in terms of perceptions of Obama as a leader, perhaps as weaker in a way that might affect 2012.

Obama would still win but "Bin Laden is dead. GM is alive" was a compelling message of his during the 2012 election. Without it, his performance might be mildly affected in Florida, or some of the other closer states in Romney's favor.

Obama loses a close election...but Democrats keep the House and Senate.

This map/the PV numbers make no sense at all.

Barack Obama / Joe Biden: 272 EV, 49% PV
Mitt Romney / Paul Ryan: 266 EV, 48& PV

The lack of the Bin Laden raid narrowly tips Virginia to Romney. Colorado, the deciding state, holds for Obama by just a few thousand votes.
