If I am elected, one of the, if not the, first big step is EDUCATING all elected officials, that includes governors office, on the constitution so we ALL understand. May be changes as well, we'll see!

Glad to see so many candidates running, but we'll have to see if 7 delegates is too many, seems like a lot to me. Something we will take a look at. What are your thoughts?

It appears I have won. Thank you Razze for running a respectful campaign. Congratulations to those elections to the Chamber of Delegates. We have a lot of work ahead.

Statement regarding vacant Supreme Court seat
There has been discussion regarding how to handle the Supreme Court seat that I vacated after winning the special election. In talking with Acting Governor The Saint, we feel that it is important to have someone nominated and confirmed as soon as possible. to ensure our region is properly represented on the court. This is especially important as justices may be forced to recuse themselves from a current Supreme Court case.

I spent the last week interviewing MANY qualified candidates - the decision came down to SJoyce, PiT and Texasgurl. All three would make phenomenal justices and should be considered down the road. As the governor-elect, I have provided my recommendation to Acting Governor The Saint and he will formally be nominating this individual later today.

Thank you.

Associate Justice Nomination
To Replace Former Associate Justice Tmthforu94

My fellow Southerners,

After collaborating with Governor-elect Tmthforu94, we have recognized the urgency to nominate a new Associate Justice from the South.  The governor-elect, after considering a number of nominees, has settled on none other than PiT (The Physicist).  PiT, as you well know, has had an honorable career serving the South and Atlasia to the best of his ability, most recently serving as our nation's Vice President.  In the eyes of myself and a number of other Atlasian politicians, he would be the perfect addition to the court, and I am proud to have the chance to nominate him.

So, without further ado, I, Acting Southern Governor TheSaint250, am nominating PiT (The Physicist) to be the new Associate Justice from the South.

Congratulations to PiT, and I look forward to seeing him on the court.

In addition, I will release an announcement on this past weekend's election later tonight.

Thank you for the nomination and the confidence in my ability to serve on the Supreme Court. I look forward to having the opportunity to demonstrate that that confidence is well-deserved and continue serving the people of the South and of Atlasia.

Statement
I will be swearing in as your governor tomorrow. I am excited to hit the ground running with southern delegates - we have a lot of important issues to tackle. I will be making a statement this weekend regarding Wiki reform. I will also make a statement on the raccoon crisis once I have been fully briefed.

I encourage you to keep following this office and my official office in the Regional Government sub-board.

Please follow my instagram account @ibahney94 and you can see pictures of The First Dog of the South, Benson. It is currently on private to keep the haters out. Thx

Statement
The Governor-elects' office has announced that he will not be retaining Mr. Chris Carr and Mr. Ken Detzner to their cabinet positions. Instead, he will be issuing an executive order tomorrow that appoints Peebs to Secretary of State and Mr. Reactionary to Attorney General. He also plans to appoint former Governor Fairbol as the Czar of Bad Decision-making.

Wasn't super active last week, very busy week at work, but things will get back on track. I am working on the Wiki tonight and will be doing it in the coming days/weeks. If anyone is willing to help with getting our region updated, please PM me and we can collaborate. I created a template tab (unsure what else to call it) on the bottom of the regional homepage to help keep things better organized. Smiley

Feedback is always welcome!!! I want to hear from you.

Statement from Governor Tmthforu94

Good afternoon,

It has been reported that schools in Mississippi and across the South are attempting to rewrite their curriculum at the last-second to omit teachings of the Civil War in the classroom. I respect and sympathize for the frustration that many in our region have in regards to race relations across our country, and I can assure that the Southern government is committed to working for ALL citizens.

With that being said, removing Civil War from our historical curriculum is the wrong step to take. Marcus Garvey once said that, "a people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots." The Civil War is an important aspect of our Southern history - even if we attempt to erase it from our historical curriculum, it will always be part of our history and something that we must learn from as we move forward as a society.

In response to this, the executive branch is currently working quickly to draft legislation that will require the Civil War to be taught in all public schools as part of our Southern Regional History curriculum, as well as be included in all history standardized testing. We will work very diligently with the legislature to get this passed and enacted as soon as possible. Our office just learned of this today, reports from the liberal media that we have been unavailable to comment is fake news and I can assure you that we will act quickly on this issue.
