U.S. Senator
For term expiring January 3, 2025:
Amy Klobuchar. It turns out all the opponents are just perennial candidate weirdos, no actual progressive insurgents. Including a guy whose serving a life sentence for murder.
U.S. Senator
Special Election for term expiring January 3, 2021:
Tina Smith. Although I warmed up to Painter upon viewing his Twitter, fact is this is a guy who voted McCain, Romney and probably someone like Rubio.
U.S. Representative
District 5:
Margaret Anderson KelliherState Representative
District 62A:
Jen KaderGovernor and Lieutenant Governor:
Tim Walz and Peggy Flanagan. As an added bonus this is probably the first ever ticket consisting of two Protestants who both were raised in and left Catholicism!
Attorney General:
Matt Pelikan. Sympathy vote since Ellison has it wrapped up anyway, and honestly while I still like him this was kind of a dick move.
County Sheriff:
Dave HutchSchool Board:
Kimberly Caprini and Josh Pauly. Both are endorsed by the DFL and teachers union. Pauly is also a former teacher and a Millennial. Caprini is the first black person I've ever heard of an with an Italian surname...I wonder how that happened.
Offices that do not appear have all candidates running unopposed, and thus there's no point in holding a vote since write-ins are not allowed. For County Attorney sort of the same except there's only two candidates, but a runoff between those two was going to happen anyway.
