Poll: Large majority of Americans support Roe v. Wade

But a large majority of Americans also support laws banning all abortion except for extreme cases (rape, incest, health issues- too much, but better than no restrictions) from DAY ONE.  Plus other laws that would require overturning Roe.  Americans' views on abortion are difficult to pin down, sometimes self-contradictory, and heavily dependent on the phrasing of the question.

Abortion is never going to be illegal in cases of rape, incest, or danger to the mother’s health. Abortion as birth control is a different matter.

Why wouldn't it? If a fetus is a person and abortion is murder, it can't suddenly be ok if it was conceived in rape.

It could be traumatic for a woman and very detrimental to her mental health to give birth to a baby that was a result of rape.

Like I said, feasible abortions will never be illegal. But if you want to terminate your pregnancy because it would interfere with your summer vacation, then you can make the trip to another state to do that...and pay for it out of your own pocket.

People don't realize what Roe actually does.

And this surprises you? Americans are dumb, news at 11.

I didn't say anything about this surprises me.  But when people trot out polls like this to say that a large majority of Americans fully support the Court's status quo on abortion rights, it is seriously misleading.
