I was just pondering over the weekend that the canard that nonwhite voters, especially recent immigrants, will inevitably be an inflexible and consistent Democratic voting bloc has done harm to our political discourse, policy and indeed both parties

I was just pondering over the weekend that the canard that nonwhite voters, especially recent immigrants, will inevitably be an inflexible and consistent Democratic voting bloc has done harm to our political discourse, policy and indeed both parties

It's a self fulfilling prophecy.
Media publishes breathless articles about 'demographics.'
Republicans get triggered, ramp up the racism to 11.
Conservative nonwhites get squeezed out of the GOP.
Media whines that the GOP is racist.

Republicans are just like the rest of us (all appearances to the contrary notwithstanding) - human beings with free will. Supporting bigotry and fascism is a choice the Republicans and their party/cult have made.
