They all helped the Democrats electoral prospects bigly of course, but I'm going to have to go with option 2. Comey's letter got Democrats so angry and increased their turnout. Smiley

Of the three, Kennedy.

But Comey’s letter didn’t fill the role of energizing the left. That would have been the Access a Hollywood tape.

The first one  didn't help at all. The first one didn't hurt but it didn't help either. If Obama didn't bounce back from the debacle that was the first debate, Romney might've been able to swing enough of the center to eek out a narrow win. For the Second event, Hillary might've eeked out a win if that hadn't happened, but the second event by itself didn't cause the defeat, she should've waked away with it running against Trump, other mistakes both  by her and Democrats themselves gave us Trump. The verdict is still out on the third one, though I hope it helps, because if Trump is re elected, and especially if he is with a Republican Congress, we may see a 6-3 or god forbid 7-2 majority on the court.

This just seems like random words. What point are you trying to make with this somehow loaded (but I'm not sure how) poll?

The first two verifiably hurt Democrats, while the latter will have no impact (or only an indirect impact in that red State Democrats will shoot themselves in the foot by confirming T***p's nominee like the spineless cowards they are and thereby depress Democratic turnout).

Kennedy's is probably the least bad(especially since its months before the election and we don't know how the confirmation will go), so it's probably the best by that logic.

Anthony Kennedy retiring does motivate Dems to the ballot box, but if the Dems don't take the House in 2018, gerrymandering will favor the GOP, once again.

I know that this is an ironic thread, but I'll bite. Romney winning the first debate. I saw way more, less justified concern, over that than I did the Comey letter, when I really started panicking about Clinton's chances in November, while no one else seemed to.
Anthony Kennedy's retirement should be the catalyst to inspire Democrats to never sit out an election, but I doubt that will happen. That concern should have been on the minds of Democrats and Trump opponents in 2016.

I remember the reactions to the first debate in 2012 and the reactions to the Comey letter being pretty similar. Dem hacks insisted it either wouldn't matter or would actually help them through some bizarre mental gymnastics, while every rational person with a brain saw it as terrible news for them. The main difference was that one was a month before the election and one was a week before it.
