Boyd 32
Black 27
Lee 20
Harwell 7

Boyd is generally viewed as the most moderate (for TN standards) and is often compared to Governor Haslam.  Past polls have seen him doing best in East Tennessee.  Black and Lee are fighting for the more conservative vote and are both doing well in Middle and West Tennessee (both live in the Nashville suburbs).  Black has been invoking Trump at every turn and has focused her campaign largely on immigration, guns, and abortion.  Lee, while sharing most of Black's positions, has had softer rhetoric but has emphasized his faith.  Harwell is pretty much a non-factor.

I'm undecided, for the record (probably leaning towards Lee, but I have not made up my mind).

Considering the Democratic primary in Tennessee is not competative, my wife and I are trying to convince her family to vote for Boyd in order to prevent the crazy of Black, who she despises.

Given that you're a Democrat, wouldn't you WANT Black to win?  It'd be easier for Dean to win the general that way.

I can't imagine the odds being that different between Boyd and Black against Dean. Might as well try to keep the crazy out.

I think Boyd will win. He will do well in East Tennessee and do better then a moderate R would do in Shelby County and environs. Especially if Lee prevents Black from consolidating ideologues, which it looks like is happening.

It seems to me that Boyd/Blackburn ticket would be the most unifying for the Party. It would be best for defeating Bredesen.  It would be the best for the state , too.

I know in Ohio that during gubernatorial elections that there needs to be a governor/lt. Governor on the primary ballot. Is that the same in Tennessee?

Tennessee’s lieutenant governor is elected by the State Senate
