color me skeptical.  You can "set clothes on fire at almost a 1km" and you can have a laser gun that weighs 3kg and you can have laser gun that has capacity for 1000 "shots", but you can't have all three without some extreme advances in one of the relevant technologies of which there is no claim.

also, "laser" weapons are fairly easy to stop (if they become a common "thing"), certainly easier than, say, a bullet.

I cant believe i am saying this, but, Donald Trump was right. We do actually need a Space Force.

They're ALL OVER the place here in Pentagon/Crystal City every time I go out on my lunch breaks.

One time I saw a Space Force guy walking down the street that was absolutely ripped.  Almost comically so.  His swole upper body didn't match his tiny-ass legs, so probably a custom-tailored ACU top. Looked too young to be prior-service, too.  Guaranteed medical discharge who will see a phat $3000 a month paycheck FOR LIFE due to PTSD suffered from a paper cut while working at the Pentagon.

I knew a lot yoked dudes in the AF, but the only time I saw the silly big upper body tiny legs guy was in Basic, and there were two of them, and as far as I could tell, all they did was scream a lot and look scary when the other TIs needed a couple of scary looking guys.  Ostensibly they were also TIs (they had them big hats and hung out with the other TIs), but they didn't seem to ever have their own Flight.
