color me skeptical.  You can "set clothes on fire at almost a 1km" and you can have a laser gun that weighs 3kg and you can have laser gun that has capacity for 1000 "shots", but you can't have all three without some extreme advances in one of the relevant technologies of which there is no claim.

also, "laser" weapons are fairly easy to stop (if they become a common "thing"), certainly easier than, say, a bullet.
