So far, Donald Trump trails almost all potential challengers in head-to-head match-ups. If one of the plausible Democratic candidates win in 2020, how will he or she poll against potential Republican opponents during 2021 and 2022? Nikki Haley, Mike Pence, Tom Cotton, Marco Rubio, Joni Ernst and Ted Cruz will likely be polled among the Republicans?

Maybe we leave Biden and Sanders out of consideration since he doubt they both run and if so, they would probably serve just one term in office. Unless there is a major recession, I think the White House occupant will lead all challengers in the polls by at least the numbers Trump is trailing now. I could even see someone like Steve Bullock or Kamala Harris leading by double digits. Thoughts on this?
