I support this bill and have agreed to assume sponsorship because even to this day there remains substantial amounts of property that have not been returned to their rightful heirs and efforts should be made to achieve restoration even this many years after the holocaust. The world must not forget and must never passively embrace withering effects that the passage of time has on the memories of the horrors. It is easy as the number of survivors dwindle with time and age to place less and less importance on correcting these wrongs that have occurred, but it is precisely because of their declining numbers and the declining public consciousness and awareness of this tragedy that makes it so important that reassert our commitment and working to make sure that it is not forgotten.

This is clearly a good idea. As Yankee stated, there is still much work to be done to restore the vast amounts of property seized during the Holocaust era, and we should be making sure the focus on these efforts is not blurred or lost.
