From what I understand the main focus for the NJ GOP is protecting Lance and MacArthur, and keeping NJ-11 close. They've completely given up the 2nd district (and the 5th, since Gottheimer is going to coast to re-election without breaking a sweat)

PA-05 is easier, but I do think it's Safe D.

This is probably New Jersey's least diverse district, so it might not hurt Grossman as much as you would think. But Van Drew could still probably use this to his advantage and win as comfortably as he was already expected to.

Wouldn't the 4th be the whitest district? The 2nd district does have Atlantic City and several other majority-minority towns

Maybe so. I'm honestly not too familiar with South Jersey outside of the shore counties.

I'd rather not consider individual Pennsylvania districts in the whole "easiest pickups" thing because the lines did change.

No one will remember or care by November. If When Grossman ends up losing, he was going to lose all along.

He ain't completely wrong... but he shouldn't have been dumb enough to say this.

As shown by Steve King’s recent Neo-Nazi retweets, it’s clearly a racist dogwhistle.

Be surprised now, but this is the GOP’s future. Their campaign slogan already may as well be “Diversity is code for white genocide.”

Even if there is a large segment of GOP voters who believe this, that will literally never be the party's longterm future, or it would die as a party.  If you want to bet on the GOP dying out, go ahead.  I'm going to go ahead and guess that the party loses a few times and is forced to adapt to a more diverse America.

I still remember people justifying putting Arkansas at toss up in 2010 with "you never bet against an incumbent." looollllllll

But that's been what GOP elites have been saying for 20 years. And their party has doubled down on anti-immigration bait politics

He ain't completely wrong... but he shouldn't have been dumb enough to say this.
In what way is he right? The entire point many progressives are making is that the Constitution *should* apply equally to everyone, but for a variety of reasons *hasnt*.
Diversity is not an American tenet. It isn't a value of our country, and it had nothing significant to do with the founding of our country. It isn't necessarily something to celebrate. Not that it's a bad thing, but it often times leads to unnecessary racial tension & conflict.

Progressives idolize "diversity" as some glorious goal to strive for; what this does is reduce the sum total of a person to his/her skin color, gender, and/or religion. In a sense it objectifies people, treating them not as a human with a unique personality and character but rather as a token that is worth more or less based on its physical attributes.

If diversity is defined as multiculturalism, or a society of ethnic and social groups that have different languages, religions, cultures, histories, etc., then the US was LITERALLY founded on diversity. Our country was created by immigrants from dozens of European countries with different languages and cultures, as well as millions of African slaves. If you'd counter that our founding "values" didn't include that, well you're wrong again because we were built on the principle of equality and freedom of religion, two ideas that were necessary because the colonists who founded America did not share the same religions or cultures as one another.

Aside from what our country stood for in the past, on the question of what it should stand for today, everyone should welcome "diversity/multiculturalism" as an American value. This is because we need to value the rich variety of languages, cultures, and ancestries that live here; otherwise how could everyone get along if we're hating on those who are different than us? The peaceful coexistence of different cultures and the intermixing of knowledge and tradition, and the learning and social benefits that come with it, are something to celebrate. The fact that we differ in race, religion, gender or otherwise IS something to celebrate! What's the alternative, ignore it or hate it?

Grossman's last name is very accurate

It's pronounced differently from how it appears in English because it's Germanic in origin.

Hopefully, he doesn't take the next step and show up at a Klan meeting.

To quote another poster on here, it looks like Deplorable Grossman has drank the Ambien and Economic Anxiety cocktail, too. Sad!

Someone needs to tell Seth Grossman that there was once a time in which members of his ethnicity weren't seen as white and were persecuted left and right.

Stephen Miller would be the right guy
