I wonder whether the late Reverend Jerry Falwell would have excoriated President Trump for his sordid sex life as much as he excoriated President Clinton for his sordid sex life.

For conservative values in personal life of a President, one need only look to Barack Obama. I just wish that he didn't smoke.
He quit smoking.

I didn't believe the connotation between McConnell and cocaine. But his comment here, sure makes you wonder.

Chubby little corn turd probably takes it up the a** from Rand while he's sucking Trump's c**k.

(censored some so that the mods don't rape me or my post)

You can criticize McConnell or any other Republican without engaging in homophobia, thanks.

Also, let's not misuse the word rape like that. If you want to be effective in debate and criticizing Trump, avoid junk like this.

Of course, when another poster referred to all White Evangelicals as Trash, your silence was deafening.

This is Atlas; it all depends on who you're trashing.

I would not have responded in that manner, but I'm a Free Speech Hawk as well.  Not everyone here is, including some folks who insist that they strenuously support the concept.

On the other hand, there is hardly a one-to-one correlation between "conservative values" and being in accord with Scripture.  And many "conservative values" are things that are of no Eternal Significance.  Keeping or ending the Obamacare mandate has no effect on someone's Eternal destination.

Well, yeah, he's kinda right - but it would be true with any Republican President, and that's because of one important action McConnell took when he came Majority Leader in 2015 - slowing down or stopping Obama nominations to the courts. Yes, there was the big one with Garland, but hiding underneath was many other cases with the lower courts. McConnell allowed Obama just 22 confirmations of Article III judges during the 114th congress - a historically low number. Republicans were not in lockstep with him on this - the Republican controlled judiciary committee approved an additional 27 nominees, after all - But McConnell simply slowed things down enough, and stopped confirmations entirely in July of 2016 - that those 27 nominees were allowed to die on the floor because McConnell never called them up for a vote of the full senate. Many other nominees were rejected in committee. Now, in the new congress, Trump has so far confirmed 42 Article III judges. This includes 21 nominees to the powerful circuit courts - a historically high number this early in a presidency. All possible because McConnell held Obama in a vicegrip. Many of these judges have already been highlighted in news stories for the conservative opinions they have authored since being confirmed.

So, when McConnell calls this the greatest time for conservative values, he shouldn't look to Trump - he should look in a mirror. What McConnell has accomplished is large - and terrifying.

There is a difference between "Values" and "Virtues" in that the former is subjective and the latter, while people disagree about what some of them are, aren't subjective. Even a blind man can see that things now are not how they ought to be even if they might be worse without Trump. In fact, that things are decidedly not okay was much of the rationale behind electing him in the first place.

He has improved in his conservative base, since Kremlin scandal broke. But, not with the other half, gardening him a 47 chance of reelection

McConnell is absolutely right. Conservative values  - jingoism, racism, corruption, bigotry, oligarchy, ignorance,  and totalitarianism - have never been better represented than they are today by Donald J. Trump (R-Moscow). Every American voter, every human being on Earth, need only look at Trump and the party he heads to see what American conservatives really stand for.
