PCs just took a 146-vote lead in Ottawa West-Nepean with one poll remaining. Pushes the NDP beneath 40 seats, and pushes the PCs to 75.

If this holds, this means the NDP would have one seat in Ottawa.

Before the results started coming in, the CBC reported that York-Simcoe would report around midnight eastern and that Kiiwetinoong would report around 1 AM eastern.

Technical issues with the machines in English Lake reservation in Kiiwetinoong and a voting station in Bradford West Gwilimbury (York-Simcoe) school was under lockdown for hours.

They are both safe seats - NDP will always win the reservation north, the PC's have Mulroney in the peninsula seat. Nope point to really stay up for them - I'm just waiting to see if the libs hit 8.

Kathleen Wynee kept her seat (for the time being?)

Wynne leads by 160, that probably is too large to overcome in the event of a recount.

PC officially called in Ottawa West Nepean, so NDP under 40 barring a flip in another seat.

She may resign her seat.

For any of those who remember Jack MacLaren, looks like he ended up getting around 3.6% in Kanata-Carleton for the Trillium Party.

Once the NDP gets more votes than the Liberals, what is the purpose of Liberal Party.  The NDP will always promise more than the Liberals. SO, if you want more services, you would probably vote NDP.  If your goal is to control spending and government, you wou would most likely vote PC.

Seriously. Official party status for the libs is 75% based on that poll. (25% on Eng-Lawrence 3 polls)

Edit: LUL called right not, no votes in that empty poll.

You would think that, except Ontario is full of left-of-center well-to-do suburban types in a similar fashion to the Acela corridor suburban democrats and "limousine liberals." There could have been a change if the Libs ended up backing a minority govt, which would have seen them collapse further, but with 7 seats and a opposition role, the Libs will probably be back. Just like in 2011.

Are you joking? Obviously all things are possible in Canada, but this is a horrific result for them - they're left with a random string of locally popular timeservers, which is not a good sort of caucus to have at that size. They are going to have to battle very hard to remain relevant before they can think of recovery.
