I think Walz will win this. He has a natural base, and has popular support. While hes more socially moderate, hes also economically left, giving him a connection to the rurals and cities. Murphy has the city vote, and some suburban support. Swanson is left with very little, no cities due to Murphy, noz woman vote due to Murphy, and no rural due to Walz. Actually now that I think about it, without Murphy, Swanson would likely win this, so thanks Murphy!

Odd, I would think that Murphy would be taking the most votes from Swanson... I mean, I guess its possible that Walz would lead his entire lead and Swanson could take a tiny lead, but at that point, I would say Murphy would win.

Yeah, it looks like Swanson wasn't ready for primetime. I was originally all for her, but now even I admit it is time to look at the others. I'll still support her if she gets the nom, but I have a feeling that it will be Walz.

I think Dayton just wanted Smith for that seat.  If he had discovered this Swanson scandal back then, it's hard to imagine someone on his team wouldn't have leaked it before the Dem convention.  Otto would likely have taken her place in the primary (and been the favorite) if Swanson's support collapsed back then.

And Otto ran a lousy campaign. Had Swanson not gotten in it would just be a Walz/Murphy race.
