Pretty simple. The best way to lower costs for consumers is to increase competition. This does exactly that in a manner which upholds the regulations and protections awarded to Atlasian consumers. I see this as extremely beneficial to both Atlasian travellers, whom pay exorbitant prices for flights, and to our economy at large.

Since I am most certainly no fan of monopolies, I would firmly support any attempt at restoring free market choice to the customer.

However, I am curious as to why this ban was implemented to begin with.

Protectionism. This is basically the Jones Act but for air carriers. As with foreign flagged boats under the Jones Act, foreign air carriers can fly from foreign soil to Atlasia or from Atlasia to foreign soil, but not from Atlasia to Atlasia. Because this bill specifically protects Atlasian labor, environmental, and safety rules, I think its fine to allow intra Atlasian flights.
