He's run a bunch

- 5 meh terms in the legislature in a deep blue district
-Lt. Gov. in '06 (lost)
- House in '08 (winnable and he lost)
- Gov. in '10 (lost)
- Mayor of Anchorage in '15 (won, but being mayor of Anchorage doesn't really make up for all the losses)

In 2008 he did better than the Democrat in 2006.
And now he is the Mayor of Republican city.

Phil Bredesen lost a million times too before he won. He's now considered a top-tier recruit for Senate.

Mayor of Anchorage is about the best local position you can get in Alaska before a Senate race.

not entrenched enough as a mayor to run imo

2022 is even a stretch, then at least he can serve 2 full terms

Alaska's very own Steve Lonegan.

Hopefully he sends out less mailers than Lonegan does.

Begich would be better imo. Even with the whole lobbying thing, I'm not sure that it would be as damaging in Alaska as other states.
