I think Kerry does worse than Gore. I think Bush wins in a close PV but the EC isn't particularily close, I think Kerry would have won the Hillary '16 states minus Colorado, Virginia and Nevada.

George W. Bush: 326 EVs
John Kerry: 212 EVs

In my honest opinion, John Kerry would perform worse than Gore. Bush would probably perform similar against Kerry in 2000 and he did IRL in 2004. The running mater can also help or hurt specific candidates.
