Oh great.

Has he donated to the directly or is this some sort of loosely connected bulletin board web thing?

The latter, I think.

This is really no different than the Canadian Government preventing government grants from going to organizations that are anti abortion or anti LGBTQ when the grants have nothing to do with their views on those things.

Any conservative who would oppose Wallace over this should agree that the Canadian government has the right to oppose giving grants to these groups.

Even just reading the article makes clear this link is tenuous, and Wallace strongly disavowed any link to BDS.

As a vehemently anti-BDS Democrat, I'm satisfied with that statement

He would've been better off not saying anything. Don't play the Republicans' game.

Oh well. Honestly, whatever he says now his donations show his heart is broadly in the right place so I'll give him a pass on this statement.

Actually, what shows his heart is in the right place is that he swiftly and unambiguously condemned BDS and made it clear that he wasn’t the one who made those donations.  It’s good to know Wallace will not support anti-Semetic hate groups like BDS and will likely be more careful going forward.  In any case, while anecdotal, the fact that both of us were completely satisfied despite clearly having extremely different views on this issue leads me to believe Wallace has more or less nipped this line of attack in the bud, barring any new revelations.

It's anti-semitism to protest what is essentially an open-air prison in Palestine and the invasion of Israeli settlements into the West Bank?

Apparently, he is also a descendant of the former vice president, Henry A. Wallace.

Not only a descendant, he's Wallace's grandson.

Wallace getting dropped from the ticket in 1944 is one of those great turning points that doesn't get addressed enough. He could very well have been president if FDR had died a few months earlier or if he managed to stay on the 1944 ticket.

If BDS is antisemitic, then there are a lot of Jewish antisemites in the world.

This is wholly dependent on how integral you view the state of Israel as it currently exists to Jewish identity. I don't think its nearly the same phenomenon as what you're describing.

I don't think criticism of Israel is inherently anti-semitic. But "some Jews support this too" is a bad argument. And to be clear, I don't oppose BDS just because they're critical of Israel, it's because anti-semitism seems to follow them wherever they go. There's a reason even Noam Chomsky is against them.
