You guys know that McGrath was also a D-trip recruit, right?

I would have sworn Jim Gray was who the DCCC was backing. Glad to see the DCCC recruited multiple candidates for a change instead of just getting behind who can raise the most money.

They did, but they originally recruited McGrath.

So this is effectively a Sestak-Specter situation minus the second recruit being from a party switch?

Pretty much

My guess:

McGrath- 50%
Barr- 49.5%
Others- 0.5%

if it had been Gray I would've said:

Gray- 51%
Barr- 47%
Others- 2%

This will be the first significant house election to report on election day, so get your takes ready now for all possible scenarios.

I think McGrath is a better GE candidate than Gray. She turned out ConservaDems in force in the rural areas, and I think they would’ve stuck by Barr against Gray, the big city mayor, compared to the veteran running against the establishment.

Limo is actually right - results from this race will be among the first to come in at 6PM ET on election night and, unless one of the candidates begins to really run away with it as the election gets closer, will probably be a barometer of the night's competitive races.

Interesting that you think Gray would have done better. The primary showed that Gray had little appeal outside of Fayette County.
