So I decided to make a timeline about what would happen if Don Blankenship primaries Trump in 2020 and wins the Iowa caucus.

CNN BREAKING NEWS: BLANKENSHIP WINS IOWA CAUCUS

Don Blankenship, in a stunning upset, has defeated President Trump in the Iowa Republican caucus. Trump's popularity here has been waning due to China's tariffs hurting farmers in the region. Blankenship was also strengthened by the strong religiosity of the voters and support for an outside candidate.

Blankenship: 52%, 13 delegates
Trump: 48%, 12 delegates

BLANKENSHIP'S VICTORY SPEECH

Blankenship addressed his supporters in a rally in Des Moines, Iowa. He spoke about how he will promise to drain the swamp and stop Mitch McConnell and Chuck Schumer's "destruction of American values". He also criticized President Trump, claiming he has "failed to Make America Great Again".

President Trump has lambasted Blankenship on Twitter, claiming "Criminal Blankenship thinks I can't drain the swamp or MAGA. This guy couldn't even win in West Virginia! Iowa doesn't matter, we will continue to win so much you'll be tired of winning. #MAGA"

DONALD TRUMP WINS NH PRIMARY

Trump: 60%, 15 delegates
Blankenship: 40%, 8 delegates

In an important victory for President Trump, he has won the New Hampshire primaries and will carry 15 of the state's 23 delegates.

Blankenship largely ignored New Hampshire during his campaign, pouring his resources into South Carolina and Nevada instead.

We can also project that Kirsten Gillibrand has won the New Hampshire Democratic primaries.

REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE IN LAS VEGAS

Blankenship is widely considered to have won the Republican debate, effectively attacking Trump over his inability to "drain the swamp" and his lack of major legislative achievements. Trump hit back by claiming this was because of a Democrat-controlled Congress, but Blankenship pointed out he had 2 years of a Republican majority and still got little done. Blankenship also successfully defended himself against Trump's talking point of a mine explosion that left 29 miners dead and put Blankenship in prison for conspiracy, claiming "It was Obama's witch hunt against me. I did nothing at all. They could not even find me guilty of multiple charges I was prosecuted on."

WHO WON THE DEBATE:
Blankenship: 40%
Trump: 33%

BLANKENSHIP WINS SC PRIMARY

Don Blankenship scored another victory in South Carolina and will decisively take all 50 of the state's crucial delegates.

This is an enormous blow to President Trump, who had largely ignored the state thinking he was a lock to win.

Blankenship: 71 delegates
Trump: 27 delegates

DONALD TRUMP WINS NEVADA REPUBLICAN CAUCUS
Trump: 58%, 18 delegates
Blankenship: 42%, 9 delegates
In a major relief for President Trump, he has carried Nevada and will win 18 of the state's 27 delegates. Trump has thanked his supporters in Las Vegas, saying "Blankenship's fake Trumpism will lose again. MAGA!"

Blankenship is setting his sites on Super Tuesday, particularly in the South, where he enjoys a strong deal of support.

BLANKENSHIP SWEEPS SUPER TUESDAY

Don Blankenship has won 10 state primaries and caucuses on Super Tuesday, severly hurting incumbent president Donald Trump's path to re-nomination.

This was blamed on, according to Blankenship, on "Trump's inability to deliver on his promises to America people".

BLANKENSHIP SWEEPS PRIMARIES

Don Blankenship has won the Republican primaries in Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan and Mississippi, while Trump is lagging behind, only winning Idaho and Washington DC.

Rumours have spread that Trump will drop out and endorse Don Blankenship. However, the president has rebutted such claims, calling them "fake news".

SUPER TUESDAY II: TRUMP DROPS OUT, ENDORSES BLANKENSHIP

Don Blankenship, after president Trump withdrew from the Republican primaries, will be nominated by the party to run in November. In his victory speech, Blankenship stated "America people are not tolerating the swamp and the corruption. We are being supported by the America people - not the elites in both parties who want to sink our campaign".

Blankenship won all 5 contests in Illinois, Florida, North Carolina, Missouri and Ohio.

Former Ohio governor John Kasich stated "Blankenship is the single greatest threat to the Republican party's existence. In fact, I'm disgusted to even be in the same party as him".

POLLING: Recently, a Zogby poll showed Blankenship +2 over Harris and +3 over Klobuchar nationally with Kasich taking 8% of the votes. However, more recent polls have shown Blankenship consistently lagging.

Meanwhile, Blankenship is already planning to choose a running mate: The shortlist includes:
