The goal of this bill is to help keep the Post Office from losing money.

2-1 makes the Board of Governors more efficient. The Board has been de facto at 5 for a while.
2-2 protects the bill of rights.

3-1 allows the post office to ship more stuff that is currently banned from being mailed.
3-2 ends wasteful and expensive Saturday mail delivery.
3-3 increases stamp prices.
3-4 allows the post office to rent ad space on its trucks
3-5 eliminates wasteful and expensive bank loans.
3-6 prevents political parties from getting reduced mailing rates.

4-1 - 4-3 creates a commemorative stamp program featuring each State.

I'm not sure how to value all of this, but this should all help make the Post Office more solvent.

I like most things about this bill, like the bit against political committees, and I think the stamps are nice. But there are some issues with it. I'm not comfortable with putting ads on post office trucks, but I don't hate it. The gun buts seem like getting rid of reasonable things though. I can see why weapons aren't being mailed to people or brought into the post office. Making that legal could lead to some trouble.

I like most of the bill overall, but I share Senator Wells' concerns on the ads on post office trucks section, that's where I'm worried.

To address my concerns on advertising on Post Office Trucks I propose the following Amendment.

Okay then. But my original concerns haven't been addressed, so I'll propose my own amendment:

I did research on 2-2 and apparently people have been arrested for guns in their cars parked in the Post Office parking lot (that's not right), but my concern was that carrying it into a building would be legalized by this bill and wanted clarification. Mailing it is still a problem.

Conditionally friendly. Are there any additional concerns?

Yes, actually, I don't think guns are the only problem there. If anything, there's also good reasons not to allow knives.

And personally I do have an objection with allowing some of the other things on the list as well, but I don't think most of the Senate will share that point of view.
