What is your educational background? Your writing is exceptionally strong for a message board.

I have a BA in political science, but I came from a generation that placed emphasis on writing skills.

Would you support Warren over DeSantis?

Do you support the ERA?

What made Nikki Fried win in 2018?

If you could describe your views, what would it be?

1.  I would not support Warren over DeSantis.  I would likely abstain or vote 3rd party.

2.  I believe that the Courts have already implemented the ERA.  I believe in the principle of legal equality and have supported the ERA in the past.  In this present legal and political environment, I do fear some of the potential consequences of the ERA being adopted at this late date, but most of it is a fait acompli

3.  Nikki Fried won because she had an opponent that was too country for urban Florida, and because she tapped into the incredibly strong support for Medical Marijuana that Floridians have.

4.  If I were running for office, I would choose to run as a pro-life, pro-gun, socially conservative Democrat focusing on labor union and bread-and-butter issues.  Sadly, while there were once many Democrats of my sort in the mainstream of the National Democratic Party, that is no longer the case.  I suspect that if I offered myself to my local Democratic Party, I'd be primaried, even if I was running for a seat the party would not have otherwise contested.

The Democratic Party lost the working class and the middle class when it chose to remake America's social mores at the expense of the well-being of the working class and middle class.

What Church do you belong to? Do you consider yourself to be an “evangelical”?

I am attending a Southern Baptist Church presently.  This was a result of a serious falling out I had with my former Pastor.

I am an Evangelical, and a Fire-Baptized, tongue-speaking Pentecostal.

How would you have ruled on Roper v. Simmons?

I'm not a lawyer, so I can't say whether or not the CONSTITUTIONAL reasoning is sound.

I do very much concur in the result.  I'm anti-death penalty, period.

Not really, no.  There are folks that lift their hands in worship, but that's about it.

Shall we be naive or sophisticated?

It would not shock me to find either scenario being true.  We'll see.

Please elaborate on Rick Scott.

I believe we share a hatred of him.

Sorry to be pushy and annoying, just curious as to your feelings on Lord Voldemort here.

Which Democrat for president would you be most likely to support?
I cannot imagine myself voting for Warren, Harris, or Castro under any circumstances.  I do not think Pete Buttigieg has experience at a high enough level (although I view him more positively than a slew of the folks running).  The only candidate who went from "Never!" to "Slim chance" is Cory Booker, whom I think more of now than when the process started.
against the whole impeachment process, which I consider to have no legitimacy whatsoever.
Didn't stop you from supporting the moron last time, who had far less experience.

Trump's experience in business, at a high level, and at an international level, is far, far more experience than Buttigieg has.

Trump’s only business “experience” is blowing through his inheritance, bankrupting his own business ventures through sheer incompetence, and committing tax evasion, various kinds of fraud, and money laundering.

Would you support a March against Death? Would you join one? (Either locally or to DC)

To be clear, a march against the death penalty.

Do you support female pastors? And if not, how do you justify that with regards to there being neither male nor female in Christ, and the fact that the first preachers of the Gospel were women*?

Sorry to be pushy and annoying, just curious as to your feelings on Lord Voldemort here.

Rick Scott sought to destroy Florida's public sector by privatizing its components out to various private entities, many of which were contributors to his campaign.  He epitomizes the idea of privatizing profits and socializing losses.  And he does this in a state which has a significant bloc of people with little or no family support that have a need for the safety net services that Scott went to war with.

His desire to privatize more prisons (something he's had to abandon) is a policy that, IMO, leads to the kind of tough on crime policies that result in overcriminalizatoin and large rates of incarceration.  These companies lobby for "tough on crime" legislation.  They also take Rick Scott to the Super Bowl, contribute to his campaigns, and flatter him in other ways.  "Freedom" ought to mean something more than "low taxes".  Scott epitomizes the idea of Freedom to make a buck (however you will), but not at the personal level (he caters to local governments who pass restrictive local ordinances that regulate personal freedom).  He also caters to the worst element of Florida's politics; it's Greedy Geezer seniors, a bloc of voters that is often well off in Florida, but who seem to believe that they have no responsibility to future generations.  (This is a big reason why Florida's schools are awful.)

These are just some of the reasons.

I'm not a marcher, but I do oppose the Death Penalty.  Unequivocally.

I do have a problem joining hands with people on this issue who are for Abortion on Demand.  This is the main reason I would hesitate about joining a "march".

These are assertions, and not established facts.  Trump has certainly done things that merit criticism, but these statements are allegations, and not established facts.

He's a liberal version of the Koch Brothers.  He shamelessly wishes to use his money to influence politics and society.

He's a target for conservatives in the same way that the Koch Brothers were targets for liberals.  The difference now, of course, is that the Koch Brothers aren't Trump fans.

I attend a Southern Baptist church right now.  There are reasons for that, even though I certainly believe in doctrines that they don't.

The Baptists do have a strong commitment to preaching salvation and educating their congregations in Biblical living.  They are a denomination more likely to have Sunday School than many.

This is a complicated Scriptural question.  What I would say is that Matthew 28 does not support your assertion.

I would also point out that the role of a Pastor is different than the role of an Evangelist.  The women in Matthew 28 were, arguably, Evangelists.  The same can be said for the role of Teachers.

Since you’ve revived this thread, I’ll point back to some questions you didn’t answer before.

Why do you think Christianity is declining among the American public? What are the factors you see that are causing people to lose faith in Christianity?

What are your opinions on anti-capitalism and those claiming to adhere to it? What is Socialism to you? What are your, and your community’s, opinions on the DSA or more ideologically defined groups believing in Communism or Anarchism? Has public perception changed wildly over the times, or is it the same?

I’m gonna keep on posting this till I get a reply.
