In May and June of 1992 Clinton was in 3rd in most of the polls, say it stays that way throught the campaign and results in this result:



Bush 194 33%
Perot 183 36%
Clinton 161 31%

say this was the result with say Democrats still having 250+ seats in house and control of senate.

Dems in house probably still elects Clinton


But now Democratic Senate can only decide between Quayle and Stockdale for VP  so who do they choose to elect

Stockdale's sort of wild card, and his political views were kind of unknown, so I think Clinton would prefer Quayle, who's views are known.
