Schneiderman may not even make it to the primary.  The Democratic State Committee could call an emergency meeting aND attempt to rescind their endorsement.  He could still run, but he'd have to get signatures.

There are ways to get rid of Schneiderman.  Even if he were nominated, he could accept a minor party's nomination for a judgeship and his committee on vacancies would fill the slot with the state committee's choice.

Why would say...the Working Families Party want such a wounded politician for a judgeship? I mean what if Schneiderman, with his huge name recognition, actually wins?

These minor parties exist to receive patronage from the dominant party in their area.  In return for such a move, a Working Families Party attorney will receive the DEMOCRATIC nomination for a judgeship that would have gone to a Democratic  lawyer.

I don't know...this is the same Working Families Party that just gave Cynthia Nixon their ballot line for Governor.

I would like to see an AG Kathleen Rice, but she seems more interested in federal politics.

I was half hoping he'd double down and back up Schneiderman.

Cuomo has called for his resignation.

Say hello to NY AG Preet Bharara.

Donovan had a golden opportunity to flee the sinking ship, hand the nomination to Grimm, give NY-11 to the Dems and push Schneidermann out.

The sad part is, even in a D wave, Donovan probably beats a wounded Schneiderman.

Not sad at all. If Schneidermann stayed in I would have actively supported Donovan. I'm glad Schneidermann went through with what Cardenas, Esty, and Kihuen won't do as those complacent or participating in things like this.

It would've been sad because because Donovan is also scum. Or do you not remember Eric Garner?

I do, but I don't recall Donovan's role. I'll do my research though!

Cuomo hates Bharara. Why would he appoint him?

There is an election this year, of course.

At least he resigned without causing a fuss, so that is good.

God, that would just be too good. In fact, maybe much too good to happen in New York.

Even if he did have interest in this, I think Bharara's previous corruption investigation(s) may generate a lot of moves against him in a New York state election.

Yeah, New York doesn’t deserve Preet Bharara
America doesn't deserve Preet Bharara.

I wonder who the legislature will choose to replace him. I hear Kathleen Rice is the likely frontrunner. But I also wonder if there will be a primary in September as the well.
