Just to clarify, on the succession of seats, Never gets Jake's, Ninja gets PMasta's, I get RC's, and DFW gets Transit's, right?

In the wiki it's in the order of seniority.

It depends who swears in at what time if it's an open seat.

The colorful chart relies on succession of seats. That and any votes which were opened last Congress.

It matters in the rare situation where there is a vote occurring that straddles the start of the new congress.

This was actually a major controversy in 2010, because Bgwah or Bacon King or someone counted both the leaving members and the new members. This meant that some regions had 2 votes while others had zero.

That was when bgwah passed something like the 4,215,151 amendment to the proportional representation act to establish a clear line of succession for the Atlarge seats.

All incumbents keep their seats
1. Peebs > Peebs
3. NC Yankee > NCYankee
6. Leinad  > Leinad
8. Rfayette > Rfayette
9. Weatherboy > Weatherboy

That leaves
2. Jake
4. RC
5. PMasta
7. Wxtransit

1. Appointees replace the one who resigned naturally Oakvale - Leinad

2. If there is a vacant seat held by a party member, and another member of that party is elected, then that person gets the seat.

3. If there are multiple incoming Senators of a given party, the first one to swear in first gets the seat. So Congrats Ninja, you get get seat number 2

Seat #2. Jake > Ninja

That still leaves RC, Masta and Transits seats and Sestak, Never and Dfw

4. For if a party loses seats, and there are no incumbents, the first of that party's elected members to swear in gets the longest held seat for that party then remaining ones would be distributed to the new members. This doesn't apply since no members of the Alliance won. IF one had, they would have received Transits seat.

5. not applicable since more than one seat changed hands

6. If a party loses multiple seats to more than one different party. I think 7 is more applicable because two parties lost seats

7. If more than one party loses seats to multiple parties, the political persuasion of the departing and incoming Representatives may be used to determine who is the successor. Seniority is the fall back if this doesn't work.  (You know we never have had an election where we go down to seven.)

I was told by DFW that RC endorsed him as his successor something like that, if that is so:
seat #4 RC > DFW
seat #5 Masta > Sestak
seat #7 WxTransit > Never

Seniority would yield this
seat #4 RC > Sestak
seat #5 Masta > Never
seat #7 WxTransit > DFW

You know something told me back a month ago, that I should delete the first half of clause 7. Tongue

If there is some kind of dispute clause 7 dictates the AG can step in, in which case he will probably just default to seniority since that is the fall back anyway.

It is suppose to be Ninja, Sestak, Never, DFW, not Ninja, Never DFW Sestak. Tongue

Yeah, that was before succession was determined.

That list has nothing to do with succession. It is the list that determines who the Dean is entirely based off definitions section of the rules, where it describes how the Dean is selected. The list is therefore wholly based off the order of swearing in.

The same list appears in the OP of the Noticeboard.

I think he meant it was originally written before the 12th Congress actually began.

Kind of hard to do that when you don't know the order people will be swearing in. Ironically, he was very close, he only had you and Never reversed.

This time it most certainly does matter. We have three ongoing votes. Tongue

Seat 1: Peebs >  Peebs
Seat 2: Ninja > Pericles
Seat 3: NC Yankee > First new Fed to swear in
Seat 4: Sestak >
Seat 5: Vacant PUP>
Seat 6: Leinad > Second new Fed to Swear in
Seat 7: DFW >
Seat 8: Rfayette > Rfayette
Seat 9: Weatherboy > Weatherboy

Remaining 1 Fed, Razze and OneJ. Seats 4, 5 and 7 will be distributed among the last Fed, Razze and OneJ based on the order they swear in.

If a vote is cast by a new member and the previous holder of that seat already voted, the vote is treated as a vote change if they differ. At no point may the total number of votes exceed nine.

Wait, I thought we were listed based off seniority? I didn't think we had specific seats. This is pretty neat

There is a by seniority list and a by seat list on the House wiki. Another seniority list is on the noticeboard. Seniority determines the Dean.

Though it doesn't take effect for another forty five minutes, OSR just grabbed my seat. Tongue

I kind of am rooting for Fhtagn to get six since six since it has almost always been held by libertarians.

If I understand it correctly, no - Jimmy’s seat has been in Labor hands longer, so I’d think Wulfric gets it - at least that’s what I judged my wiki edit off of.
