Yes, it's that time again folks.

I'll take a few days here to record all choices that you want to make and then we'll have a vote.  I expect the convention to start first week of October.

It's also about that time that I make a fairly large announcement in terms of announcements.

I won't be running for re-election as party chair of the CUP.

I have two reasons for doing this:

1.  I think someone fresh should run the party to make sure that it doesn't get stale or boring.  I've brought my own style, now I think that someone else should bring a new leadership style to the party.

2.  I'm simply too busy at this time to be doing GM things and party things at once with the rest of my life.  This will give me more time to come up with GM things, which I view as being more important now.

I will be running this convention, et al, however and everything to do with the convention.

My choice for the holding of this convention is:

San Diego, CA

Seattle never gets nominated for these things.  It is a lovely city with seafood, the Experience Music Project, and free women.

I encourage all to vote Seattle.  Do it for the free women.

I concur with the Chairman's nomination of San Diego.   It will serve to balance out my trip to Anchorage for the ACA convention Smiley

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to our Chairman, Sam Spade, for his leadership.  In deciding which party to join, Sam made the decision easy for me.

He personally shepherded me through my introduction to Atlasian politics, and I considered him my mentor and adviser for quite some time.  I will long remember his gracious efforts to include newbies like me in the party and in Atlasia in general.  It was therefore a great honor to have succeeded him in the Senate.

Sam taught me so much about how the system works, and this party of ours has been very good to me.

I thus respectfully submit my name as a candidate for Chairman of this party, in hopes that I might give back something to it.

I think San Diego is a good choice, one of my favorite cities.
Austin, TX would be a great choice for the next convention.

It is sad to read your decision Sam. You've been a great chairman of the CUP. You know how to play good politics and have been visionary. I hope you remain involved actively even if you're not chairman.

I think I'll become more active here.. haven't had the time in the past.

Thanks for the compliments, PrezMex.

As for me, I'll still be active.  I am GM, after all.  I'm just taking a rest from party management.

Q
Southeast Regional Chairman, Constitutional Union Party

Considering I have been sort of out of touch of late, let me catch up on this thread etc.

First, thanks Q for the kind comments and for your diligent work in the party.

During the convention, we will of course have a vote on the next chairman.

As of right now, Q is the only one on the ballot.

If any others want to run, please post so on this thread or on the convention thread when it starts.

The suggestions so far are:

San Diego, CA
Seattle, WA
Philadelphia, PA
Dallas, TX
Helena, MT
Portland, OR
Nashville, TN
Austin, TX

I will start a thread on these choices in a few moments.

It will be a simple highest preference vote, give the highest preference to your highest pick.
